Michael Rosenfeld Gallery is pleased to present the tenth and final exhibition in its groundbreaking series, African-American Art: 20th Century Masterworks. Over the last decade, this series has presented the highest quality work by the most important historic African-American artists, showcasing a full range of aesthetic styles, subjects and media. As a result, this series has elevated the reputations of the

artists included and enhanced the awareness of African American artists’ contributions to the history of American art. The popularity of this exhibition has contributed to the strong and steady demand for works by African-American artists. As a leader in this field, Michael Rosenfeld Gallery continues to expand the canon of American art.

This exhibition is accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue with an essay by Robin Kelley, Chairperson of the Department of History at New York University.
