Michael Rosenfeld
Michael Rosenfeld, born and raised in New York, graduated from The University of Pennsylvania (1984) with a degree in art history. After years of working in New York City as a private art dealer, he opened his public 57th Street gallery in 1989. From the beginning, Rosenfeld has focused his activities on twentieth century American art, mounting landmark exhibitions that have reestablished the reputations and market presence for artists and movements of lesser notoriety. To his credit, Rosenfeld has generated global interest in early American surrealism, social realism and abstraction. His contributions to the art world are far reaching and his involvement, specifically in the field of African American art, has made him a leading dealer. Committed to education, Rosenfeld serves as an advisor to numerous private collectors and has helped shape the collections of many urban and regional museums across the United States. He has lectured for Museum audiences on American art and the joy of collecting.

halley k harrisburg, Director
halley k harrisburg, born and raised in Portland, Maine, is the Director of Michael Rosenfeld Gallery. A graduate of Bowdoin College (1990) with a B.A. in art history, she has worked in the art profession for seventeen years. Beginning her career at Josh Baer Gallery, she teamed in 1992 with Michael Rosenfeld of Michael Rosenfeld Gallery, where she has organized significant exhibitions that have explored the depth and breadth of twentieth-century American art. Known for presenting historically significant but under-recognized artists and movements, harrisburg, along with Rosenfeld, has become a leading dealer in the field of historical African American art. In 1993, they launched the groundbreaking exhibition series, African-American Art: 20th Century Masterworks. For a decade, this series presented the highest quality work by the most important African American artists, showcasing a full range of aesthetic styles, subjects and media. harrisburg has also organized landmark exhibitions that include Fiber & Form: The Woman's Legacy and its traveling sequel True Grit. To accompany each gallery exhibition, harrisburg has designed and edited over one hundred publications and many of her books have been recognized for their excellence; Martha Madigan: Vernal Equinox won the 2002 Independent Publisher's Award (IPPY) for Outstanding Book of the Year.
Committed to education, harrisburg is an adjunct advisor at PS36/The Margaret Douglas School, a New York City public elementary school located in Harlem. For her work in the schools with children aged 6 to 8, harrisburg was awarded the 2001 Volunteer of the Year by the District. Presently, harrisburg serves on the Executive Board of the Children's Museum of Manhattan (CMOM), on the Bowdoin College Museum of Art Executive Advisory Board, the Advisory Committee of the Apollo Theater Foundation, and the Associates Steering Committee of The Studio in the School. In 2004, she was elected to ArtTable, a national non-profit membership organization for professional women in leadership positions in the visual arts. In November 2005, she was featured in the Big Apple Parent article Raising our Kids: Smart Women, Strong Daughters.
Jason Andrew, Archivist
Jason Andrew (BFA, University of Utah, Art History & Studio Art) has freelanced in and around the New York art world, forging terrific partnerships with artists and collectors, curators and museum men, dancers and choreographer, actors and directors.
Mr. Andrew has worked with and for many prominent art dealers and galleries throughout the world. He specializes in Post War American art and currently manages the estate of Abstract Expressionist painter Jack Tworkov.
Mr. Andrew is the co-founder and director of the art group NORTE MAAR (http://www.nortemaar.org) (NYC / Rouses Point / London, UK) whose mission is to create, promote and present collaborations within the disciplines of visual, literary, and the performing arts. His imaginative projects include exhibitions of visual art and unique performances of dance.
Mr. Andrew is a consultant to young artists and emerging collectors and frequently lectures on the creative imagination and its relationship to collaboration with the various disciplines of Art.
He has a wonderful dog named Fern whom he shares with his partner Norman.
Sarah Kent, Administrative Associate
Sarah Kent has a BA/BS from Georgetown University and an MA from Christie's Education, London. After living in London for three years, she returned to work as a legal assistant at a law firm in New York City. She joined Michael Rosenfeld Gallery as their administrative associate in May 2006.
Bruce Kriegel, Registrar
Bruce Kriegel joined Michael Rosenfeld Gallery in March of 2003, after completing his MFA in creative writing at Columbia University. His fine arts career began in 1987 at Andre Emmerich Gallery. A native of New York City, he has worked for many New York arts institutions, including Hirschl & Adler, Gagosian Gallery, and Marisa Del Re Gallery.
Marjorie Van Cura, Press and Publications Associate
Marjorie Van Cura earned a BFA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. She worked for several years in Cambridge, Massachusetts as an office and marketing manager for two prominent architecture firms. She also taught fine art classes at the Boston Architectural Center, University of Pennsylvania, and Abington Art Center.
Marjorie currently resides in New York and maintains a studio in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Greenpoint. She previously worked for two years as an Archivist and Administrative Associate for Forum Gallery. In 2006, she joined Michael Rosenfeld Gallery as Press and Publications Associate and Assistant to the Director.
Kevin Whichello, Preparator
Kevin Whichello studied at the Mid-Pacific School of the Arts, Honolulu before earning his BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He is an experienced gallery registrar, exhibitor and framer. He previously worked as Preparator for an internationally acclaimed gallery in Georgetown, Washington D.C. before joining the staff at Michael Rosenfeld Gallery in 2006.
